Filo Fun and Broken Collar Bones!

No! I didn't break my collar bone...  But the DH did!  Skateboarding at 7 am to the corner store...  I was woken up to a ready to pass out hubby saying he had possibly dislocated his shoulder and needed to be taken to the ER. At first I thought he was going to make me try to put it back in socket!!!  Eeeep. But alas he did not which is good because it wasn't dislocated but broken...  Sooo that was fun!

So far this week (it's only Tuesday) has been filled with playing in my Filofax and getting everything set up juuuuust right. Which is so fun!  I decided I really loved next years vertical and lined week on two pages. So much so that I disliked this years horizontal unlined ones...  Sooo I sort of made my own for the remainder of the year!  Not toooo shabby. I scanned the first week of next years. Popped it into Word. Printed it front and back on regular printer paper. Washi taped over the incorrect dates and VOILA!!!  Happy camper.

I also revamped my Mail Log!  Writing the same info on two pages (incoming and outgoing) was getting tedious and ridiculous! So, I took advantage of the wonderful roomy pages in my A5 Chloe and made new ones!  LOVE! (Yes that is a Unicorn paperclip and yes it is awesome).

Then I FINALLY made a log for keeping track of Shop sales and crafty purchases!  When the big bag "Tax Collector" comes round this year Sara Jean will be prepared! Don't mess with a girl and her Filo...  LOL

I was good and also finally made a Food Log to keep track of things. Because, well, this girl is turning 30 in three weeks and wants to live until shes 90!!!

This picture is simply here because I love the fly leaf I made and the tree.. The TREE!  Oh, how I love trees...

I finally started Smashing and Journaling in my Filofax! The little miss bought her very first "Luvie" with her own munnies from her piggy bank so I kept the receipt , snapped a shot and voila!

There, um, may have also been a stationery purchase delivered last week from Janet Store...  It wasn't me, I swear!!!  Ok, yeah you caught me, it was me...  But it is all so awesome!

And I mean really, all of my stationery fits in two shoe boxes!!!  So I don't think that I have a problem so nee ner nee ner neeeeeee ner! LOL

Well I suppose this post should end!  Some things to look forward to in future posts are:

*A Stationery Stash share video? Would anyone watch that? I mean besides me...
*ZINES!!!  I really, really, really, wanna make a Zine
*A new Video update on my life in my Filofax Chloe!
*Stationery!!!  I am going to be designing some collage stationery to sell! MY DREAM!
*Lots of Postcards and Beeswax, intrigued?
*Oh and there will be many cups of iced coffee and possibly a baby... (Figure that one out)!

Poking My Head

Out of My Shell!!!

My passion these days is really trying to start a little business of my own.  When I was little I always said that I wanted to be an Entrepreneur.  I didn't particularly want to take over the family Drug Store but I did want to work for myself!  The family business closed years ago and somewhere along the road of growing up I forgot about  that I Love Lucy themed Cafe my ten year old self dreamed of opening.

Growing into an adult and thinking about real goals that would enable me to still enjoy my day but make a real dependable living lead me to pursue a degree in English, mainly because I love to read and I though if I could show others the wondrous world of literature as an English Teacher then life would be good.  Well its been ten years and I am still sloooooowly working on that goal...  But, school is expensive and I am a full time working mommy and wife who has officially run out of financial aid for school (pout).

So here we are, it is a new year, 2013 and I am still waiting for my Hover Board!!!  And Flying Cars (though that would really be terrifying considering how bad some  drivers are).  And where the heck is my Replicator?!

So this is where I find myself in the new year.  Thankful that my Little Etsy Shop seems to do a bit better than the previous month and that of course is AWESOME!  And really all I can ask for.  My journals are now being carried in a local Handmade Shop and hopefully very soon you will find them in TWO shops here in Little Ventura CA.  This year I plan to apply to the Renegade Craft Fair and hopefully others.  But I have to remember to be brave and break out of my little shell.  Sometimes it's hard to motivate yourself and put yourself out there (what if someone belittles what you work so passionately on)?  But that is my number one goal for this year.  To really work on this "being my own boss" thing while doing something I LOVE.

What are your goals for this year?!

Cheers!!!

Buzz Buzz Buzz

That is what the inside if my skull sounds like! I have sooo many plans for the new year both crafty and personal. I can't wait to get started! Here's the rundown.

1. Make more journals! Because I Love to. Especially the custom orders I get here and there. They are my absolute favorite! And I have a new idea for a different type of journal that involves using an entire vintage book for the bones! Then hopefully sending more of my little books out into the world.

2. I was nominated for a Liebster Blog Award by A Ghouls Best Friend!!! More details to follow this weekend! Super fun and exciting. Thanks Sara!!!

3. Complete a journal this year! I love making journals. But I tend to be bad about keeping up with my own. Well not this year!!! I ordered a custom one from Debra over at A Little Imagination and a Pile of Junk.  And I haven't opened the package yet but I am dying with anticipation! I know it's going to be absolutely fantastic.

4. The usual. Get healthy!!! Er. This girl is going roller skating for her thirtieth bday in August and I want to be in the best shape of my life for the big 3 0!!!

5. Make money to save money so that eventually we can buy a little house of our own. My dream!!!!!! Gotta convince my hubby to move out of state. CA is sooooo heartbreakingly expensive...

Well I hope everyone else is as excited about 2013 as I am!!! There are a lot of terrible things going in in the world today but I am committed to focusing on the positive!!!

For instance the new Star Trek movie and Oz movie that are do out this year!!!

Cheers!!!!

Oh My Goodness!!!

Has it really been 5 days since my last Blog post?! I apologize. My brain has officially been taken over by the evil professors at Uni who are desperately trying to make me a better more equipped human being. Although in the grand scheme of things... Any who now I'm off topic!

Wait I don't think this post had a topic. I really just need to find some time. Hurry up and write my best selling novel and move to Oregon to live in the country and simply enjoy life!!! That's the dream. I want to sit in my little home and write and consume and give back and read and create and craft and cook and see and ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Ok silly ranting post is complete. I am also happy to announce that my new blog friend (ok I think we're friends but really I think I just have a blog crush) Laura is alive and well!!! Robots had not in fact kidnapped her she was simply vacationing in London. Check out her funny blog!

YUMMY!!!  Yes that is  a bagel under there.  SOOO tasty!

Let's Just Say

I've had an amazing Birthday week!!!

1. I'm getting in the groove of using my journal.
2. I'm preparing mentally for all the changes and sacrifices I'll be making come Monday to make sure that 29 is a happy healthy productive year (goodbye to gluten, alcohol, excessive spending etc...)
3. The fun's not over yet! I work at my day job today but then I'm free for two more glorious days!!!

Yesterday was super neato. I woke up early and excited before 7 am and spent some quiet time alone. Then it was off to Birthday breakfast at my favorite cafe. Then we had to replace my iPhone... The home button and the power button had given out. But, they gave me $132 smackeroos for my old phone so my new one was was almost paid for! Finally it was off to the Chumash Casino to spend a few hours with the hubby daydreaming about winning big. Lol. We play penny slots. And guess what. I WON $300 DOLLARS!!!

It kept happening. I'd find a bright and shiny machine that looked like it had neato extra bonus games and down I would sit. A few button pushes in and blamo! I'd wind up in some sort of bonus game and watch the winnings pour in! It's especially fun in penny slots because your "winnings" are in the thousands. I did this four times with winnings of $60, $70, $80, & $90! The most entertaining one was the Ghostbusters machine. The chair vibrated when you hit the bonus round.  SO FUN!

The fun continues this weekend. Hope everyone else is having a lovely end to their summer!!!!!

My Favorite Time of Day

Is always in the morning when the house is still quiet and everyone is still asleep.

I'm thinking a lot about GOALS today. Sadly it's my final day of one of the happiest words in the English language. "Vacation".

Next week is my final Twentieth Birthday and I feel like this year really means something. It's the end of an era. Of a decade!!! In these last ten years I became independent. Married. And a Mother. I can't believe how fast it has all gone!!! Don't worry I wont start begging for time machines again (I'm already building one!)

I have a ton of things I want to achieve in this last year of my twenties. Most notably:

1. Getting über healthy (so I can fight crime).
2. Waking up earlier every morning to have more lovely quiet reflection time
3. Possibly moving to Oregon
4. Making my dream of staying home more with my family and working less
5. Somehow making more of a living by crafting

There are A LOT more goals but these five sort of include the others. It's an important long list. I just feel like I am on the precipice of great change.

I have also decided that this big important year needs its own Journal. Photos to follow!!!

So Many Things

So Little Time!!!!!!

My brain is spinning around with ideas and I just can't seem to focus on any one thing. So here is a probably not so short list of what's going on around in my grey matter...

1. I finished the Indiana Jones journal for my friend Jon. And he loved it!!! It was probably one of the more simple things I've made. I had to reign myself in to accommodate his tastes... Haha

2. I want to start Christmas Journals but I'm not sure if there is any point... I have a whole box full of lovely journals in my bedroom waiting for good homes already...

3. I think I want to start making stationery again! Cards really. If I could sit down and focus I might just do that!

4. I haven't journaled all week and I need to get back to my Summer of Love art journal class.

5. I really want to get another piece of mail art made for that Summer Camp I mentioned a few days ago! So far I am sending off a really neat big wooden postcard.

6. I really would love to find a penpal! I've had a few over the last years but after a letter or three back and forth they've fizzled...

7. I can't stop thinking about my upcoming VACATION! My little brother arrives from Oregon on August 5th and will be sleeping on my couch until the following Sunday. Eight glorious days!!! Sunday will be pick up day. Monday is the Ventura County Fair. Tuesday we will lounge and Wednesday is Disneyland day!!! Thursday we will relax and Friday it is off to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Saturday we will be couch potatoes and Sunday it's back to LAX for him. I can't believe how far we've come!!! I have to remind myself that I am almost 29 which makes him 26... Not so little...

Any who this not so little post is just SOME of the craziness going on in my noodle... Hopefully I can find some focus today and get something wonderful accomplished. Cheers!!!

It's July!

Where oh Where as 2012 gone...  I have decided that since today I am officially starting to use my new Journal, now that it is a bright and shiny new month that I would start with some monthly goals.  Some of these goals will be part of a much bigger goal but I am trying to build up to important life changing things instead of trying to go full steam ahead.  Unfortunately I am an All Or Nothing Girl which usually means the ALL part fizzles very quickly because perfection is impossible and I spend most of my time wallowing in the NOTHING cycle.  So here are some of the things I want to focus on in JULY!

1. Manufacture my own fireworks for the 4th!
2. Number one was a joke...  LOL

Lets try this again:

1. Finish Tutorial Project
2. Journal Often
3. Say Farewell to Complex Carbohydrates
4. Say Hello to Juicing one or two meals a Day
5. Only visit Social Media sites ONCE per Day
6. Mediate, yoga or walk daily
7. Crochet at least Four Rows per Day

Its kind of neat that I ended on number 7 since this is the 7th month!  Haha

Any who, I am off to focus on this list of goals.  I think the two that give me the most pause are numbers one and three.  I've never done a tutorial before and I am a bit nervous.  I started it over a month ago but then my emotional 3 1/2 week Civic Duty fulfillment derailed me.  And Carbohydrates?  Well I Love them...  But who doesn't?!

Cheers!
