Flower Love

Ok so my new obsession is Flowers! I adore the beautiful little paper ones that I can spritz with glimmer mist and make shine and I love the little bright resin ones that look like little pieces of candy. I went from basically no flowers in my stash to an abundance! They make me smile. They are just so brightly colored and little and pretty. Here is what I've been using them on! Oh how I love Spring...

In Honor of Fall

My hair has also decided to change colors with the season! It's a little red. A little orange. A little blonde. And I'm pretty pleased with it! My Bestie Michelle was my impromptu colorist. She's never highlighted anyone's hair and we were both pleasantly pleased with the results!

Today is the first of October. Yippie!!! I have a secret non craft related project that I am starting today as well as a new journaling class I will be taking! So exciting. Once again I will be happily immersing myself in an online class with Janel from Run With Scissors. Her classes are always fantastic and I hope to actually finish this one! I started her Fall course last year but other things got into the way. But not this time!

Here are some of last Falls class pictures of my begun but sadly never finished journal:

I love her online journal classes because they are live and always have a ton of participants so you really get to talk with others and share while you are working through the process.

I'll be posting pictures of my art journal pages every few days here as we'll as my Pinterest.

HAPPY OCTOBER!!!

My Favorite Time of Day

Is always in the morning when the house is still quiet and everyone is still asleep.

I'm thinking a lot about GOALS today. Sadly it's my final day of one of the happiest words in the English language. "Vacation".

Next week is my final Twentieth Birthday and I feel like this year really means something. It's the end of an era. Of a decade!!! In these last ten years I became independent. Married. And a Mother. I can't believe how fast it has all gone!!! Don't worry I wont start begging for time machines again (I'm already building one!)

I have a ton of things I want to achieve in this last year of my twenties. Most notably:

1. Getting über healthy (so I can fight crime).
2. Waking up earlier every morning to have more lovely quiet reflection time
3. Possibly moving to Oregon
4. Making my dream of staying home more with my family and working less
5. Somehow making more of a living by crafting

There are A LOT more goals but these five sort of include the others. It's an important long list. I just feel like I am on the precipice of great change.

I have also decided that this big important year needs its own Journal. Photos to follow!!!

June Gloom

I love June Gloom! Though it always falsely has me dreaming of an early Fall... I love the chill in the air. The ocean moistness that rolls in and stays for most of the day. I love the sort of wetness that clings to the foliage. The freshness in the air. I just love everything!!! All I need to make this June Gloom perfect is a lake house with a porch, lap blanket and a book!!! Ahhh. Heaven.

It's a Lovely Day

To eat lunch outside the courthouse. Day One and I am enjoying fulfilling my Civic Duty. Especially because I can eat lunch outside surrounded by beauty and I have enough time for a quick bite and some painting! Ok. So I am the first to admit that I am by no means an artist. I am a crafter. And I'm OK with that.

I brought my water color field kit with me today and one of my purchased Smash Books. I'll admit I don't keep the book as you are intended... Instead I use all of the lovely paper for various other crafty endeavors. (did I mention I'm a paper lover?!) While I LOVE the idea of a smash book I find the brand name ones too lovely and neat. They give me that " I don't want to ruin a pretty perfect page with my slop" anxiety. So my daily journal is still a smash book of sorts made by yours truly.

I've spent the last hour lazily sloping water colors onto a page. It's been quite relaxing and fun. Who knows what I'll use it for. But that's not really important. Just the moment of quiet mindless engulfing color is.

I think I like Jury Duty... Cheers!

I Am Pretty Sure

I just landed myself on a Jury... Oh well. Here's to fulfilling my Civic Duty! I am definitely going to have to bring some little crafty things to do on our long lunch breaks. It is so gorgeous outside in the courthouses little courtyard! I think my journal and some Washi tape are going to be making their way into my bag. And probably my water color field kit!!!

The End of the Week is Always...

The hardest! Friday and Saturday are the only two days I work in a row at my day job. All of the other work days seem easier and more easily endured because I keep reminding myself that I am off tomorrow. Well not Fridays... I am always there tomorrow. Saturday. So it just takes a bit more mental pep talking to stay uppity!!!

Does anyone else love snails? I'm not sure why I do. They aren't colorful. Normally. They're slimy... But I just really respect them for some reason! As in I do not like people who step on them. It's so rude! That snail wasn't hurting you! It couldn't if it tried and it definitely can't outrun you... I always try taking pictures of snails but they aren't very photogenic.

Anywho that's my weird off balance post for the day! Random I know. Oh! And today starts the Thirty Day Journal Challenge with Run With Scissors!!! Should be fun! Cheers!

A Spring Garden

Just thought I'd share some pretty snap shots of my Father In Law's budding garden. Maybe next year I'll be brave and start a small one of my own!!!
