It's Feeling Like A Crafty Day

Or is it feeling like a sneezy day...  A sneezy crafty day?  I know I am a native Southern Californian and those (2?) of you reading my silly little Blog most likely aren't but I hate/love these Santa Ana winds!!!

I hate them because it gets waaaaarrrrrm. I hate warm weather and it gets so FRAKING windy!!!  My nose has danced between stuffy, runny and sneezy for three days.  I am pretty sure there are a few more Nose Dwarfs in there somewhere and it is ANNOYING!!!

So why do I also love our Santa Ana winds you ask? Because this means Fall and Winter in southern CA. We don't get chilly crisp weather and snow. No sir we get warm crazy blow you down the street windy weather!  And to us in Southern California it means Christmas will be here sooner than any of us are prepared for. So I guess today will be a snotty, sneezy, teary craft loving day!!!

So I Went a Little Crazy

On Amazon this week...

And ordered FIVE prompt journals!!! I just couldn't help myself. Hello my name is Sara and I am a journal-a-holic. But they are sooooo neat!!!

The first is Keri Smith's Wreck This Journal which I discovered a few years go and thanks to YouTube became re-acquainted and re-obsessed with. Check out her website!!!  Keri Smith. It is a super great idea for a journal. Every page has a crazy prompt that involves writing, drawing, painting or in some way destroying.

The second is also by Keri and is called This Is Not A Book. It has you do things like make a mark for every time you enter a new room. Disguise the book to be something else or leave this book somewhere over night. Keri's prompts are amazing and funny and way out of left field. Love her!!!

Then I bought This Book Will Change Your Life which is 365 daily prompts that make you think and do things you would never think to do. Like break the law of your choice day. Kiss someone somewhere you wouldn't normally and subtext day where you read between the lines of what people say to you and document it.

Finally I got the Memo Random Journal.  Which is basically a huge book of lists!!!

All our are so exciting and wonderfully illustrated. I can't wait to get started on all four. I seriously suggest checking them all out.

Missed Me?

I can't believe it's been a week since my last post!!!  That's midterms for ya ..  I am just popping in for a quick little post today.  I just stumbled upon the neatest DIY recycle project!!!

You know those great little cardboard boxes that our bar soap come in???  Have you ever thought "geee wonder what I could do with all these boxes?"  Well then this is the video tutorial for you!!!  It is brought to you by the Blog "Creativity Prompts" and I highly suggest you check it out.

There are soooo many wonderful tutorials.  This particular one shows you how to take a soap box and turn it into a lovely little mini book using the box, scrap paper, some Modpodge, thread and a needle!!!  It looks super simple and you better bet I am about to run off to make a few.  Happy GLUING!!!

We're Off to See the Wizard!

Ok my two lovely Oz journals are officially up in the SHOP! I was debating whether to list them both since I kinda wanted to keep one... Haha. But alas I can always make myself one later.

Today is the first gloomy day of the season! And it makes me oh so happy. Does anyone else love gloomy days as much as I do?

After a very sick Monday it's back to the grind for me tomorrow! Does anyone have any super interesting crafty things they always like to do around this time of year?! I'd love to hear about them. Okalidokalie. Cheers!

It's an Oz Kinda Christmas

I looooove The Wizard of Oz.  Not so much the movie (ok it's good but have you read the books?!) but the books!

And I found this amazing Oz paper and some super fantastic embellishments. So here I was ogling my goodies and wondering what I could make with them that I (or others) could actually use!!!

You know my love of journal album thing-a-ma-jigs and there is a certain favorite holiday much to rapidly approaching... Hmmmm

So I Invented Christmas themed Oz Books! And I love them. They are constructed like the Halloween ones but even better!!! They are a little but fatter (if that's even possible) and I have to say my tag making, photo mounting, pocket making skills have improved.

These two lovelies will be in the SHOP before Monday and though I'd love to see them go I kinda wanna keep one for me!!! I guess it's up to fate.

Anywho I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend! It's back to the grind for this girl come Monday... Can't this weekend last forever!!!  (I'm desperate...)  Cheers!

Hello!

Just a quick one. Here are my fist two new journal pages! One is the cover with the title of the Class I am taking, "Sparkle With Love".  I just printed a drawing of a Deer's head and then inked and glitter misted it.

And here is my first page which is simply a list of goals to achieve while working in the 31 day long journal. Wish me luck!

Cheers!

In Honor of Fall

My hair has also decided to change colors with the season! It's a little red. A little orange. A little blonde. And I'm pretty pleased with it! My Bestie Michelle was my impromptu colorist. She's never highlighted anyone's hair and we were both pleasantly pleased with the results!

Today is the first of October. Yippie!!! I have a secret non craft related project that I am starting today as well as a new journaling class I will be taking! So exciting. Once again I will be happily immersing myself in an online class with Janel from Run With Scissors. Her classes are always fantastic and I hope to actually finish this one! I started her Fall course last year but other things got into the way. But not this time!

Here are some of last Falls class pictures of my begun but sadly never finished journal:

I love her online journal classes because they are live and always have a ton of participants so you really get to talk with others and share while you are working through the process.

I'll be posting pictures of my art journal pages every few days here as we'll as my Pinterest.

HAPPY OCTOBER!!!
