These Two Lovely

Spooky Beauties will be in the SHOP by the weekend!!! I'm doing a happy dance. I LOVE how they turned out! Trying out some new skills made me a little anxious but I think I found my crafty groove. Cheers!

They're Almost Done!!!

All they need is covers. And then I'm gonna be brave and do a little YouTube video flipping through them so prospective Halloweenie owners can get a better look!!! Or I might keep them... Haha.

A Touch of Fall

On Campus this morning!

Just Playing Around!

Having fun. It's hard starting a new kind of project with elements you haven't worked with before. It takes you a little our of your comfort zone. But I'm having a blast figuring out what I like! Here's a sneak peek at what I'm working on. It's a journal/album of sorts. Lots of pockets and tags.

Albums!

I've never made one. But I'm excited to try!!!!! I figured I'd start with a Halloween one. Since September is practically already gone...

So I've got the pages all ready so far. And of course I cut up enough for four albums!!! I over compensated... Haha. So now I'm working on handmade embellishments. Pockets. Tags. And mini booklets.

I've been obsessively watching YouTube videos on album making this week. It is intimidating!!! They are all so beautiful and full! I mean how do these women cram all that stuff onto one little page that seems to have 18 secret compartments?!

So I'm taking it sloooooow. Haha. Wish me luck!

Cheers.

I Apologize

To my two readers that I've been away!!! Boy this month and been stressful!!! Sheesh! Look how many exclamation points I'm having to use!!!

Ok but seriously. We're talking emergency surgeries. Vet trips. Loss
Of school funding. Work catastrophes. Exploding toilets (which I sacrificed all my linens to clean and will most likely not be compensated for and yes I cried...). The list goes on...

But! As of tomorrow I am unshackled from my day job and plan to get busy and enjoy some quality time with paper. Glue. Glitter. Etc!

I hope someone has stuck around to hear my ramblings. I hope to ramble a lot these next two days.

Cheers!!!

Whew!!!

It has been such a busy week!!! Yesterday was the little misses ROBOT birthday party and it was a fantastic whirl wind that has left me utterly exhausted! Seriously I feel
Like I spent two hours at the gym yesterday.

All week I have been planning on trying out a new crafting project that I am über excited about but just haven't had the time to delve into yet. So I have been shamelessly cruising YouTube learning new fun tricks and techniques. Which. Is. Dangerous. Luckily I hadn't spent my crafting allowance this month yet because now it's gone!!!

How had I new heard of Glimmer Spray. Glossy Accents or Stickles?! If you are obviously sheltered like me and have no idea what I'm talking about fear not! As soon as they arrive in the mail I'll post about them.

I think after I get this next project done I'm going to shoot my first video!!!!! Kinda scary. Lol

Cheers!!!

A Snapshot of My Quirky Home!

Holy Crow half of September is already gone!!!  This is my favorite time of year and it goes by so gosh darn FAST...

I've been doing some crafty scheming, trying to  stay semi up to date with homework and planning a certain little girls Robot Birthday Party so let's just say I've been busy!

So today I thought I would share some snap shots of the type of eclectic decor I have in my home.  I have a varied amount of interests as you I am sure you can guess from my pictures!  No, I am not schizophrenic I assure you even though my taste in wall art may lead you to think otherwise...  (Though on a side note I have always been fascinated with mental institutions and would love to vacation to one for a short bit!)

So in no particular order...  These are some of my favorite postcards that I decided to frame and hang in my living room.  I just love the creepy melancholy feel!!!  And the warm wood makes it seem cozy.  Haha

This is my wonderful Audrey Hepburn portrait that (wait for it) I found by the dumpster!!!!!  It was in almost perfect condition.  A few scrapes in the black frame that I fixed right up with a sharpie and she was as good as new.  Who would throw this away?!?!?!  And it s pretty large.  Like 24x18?

I firmly believe that every home should have at LEAST one Coo-coo Clock.  I love this little one that I picked up in Solvang (A little Dutch tourist spot here in Southern CA)  I also think its haunted.  Sometimes the pendulum stops moving at it appears to not be keeping time but I check on it days later and by golly the time is correct!  I want a whole collection of Coo-coo's eventually.  Maybe cover an entire WALL!!!

My bedroom has four huge blank off white walls that are hard to cover.  I always seem to decorate the bedroom last.  I suppose because no one else sees it...  These are just some flower photos I took myself and framed.  I like it because it covers quite a bit of space!!!  And as everything in my life nothing quite lines up properly.  Who  need a level?  Not I.

These are just some garish over sized photo frames that I saved and filled with old photos.  See my bookshelf there?  LOTS of color.  I love bookshelves.  Why don't homes come with Libraries anymore?!  I want one...

Isn't he a handsome OWL?  What an elegant fowl.

This is a board in my little misses room that I made when she was a baby.  So sweet!

My husband acquired this piece!  Who doesn't love Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

This lovely painting was done for me by my oldest friend Michelle.  It is absolutely AMAZING!  It's multi media (I think she used everything except the kitchen sink...  Actually the paper with the poem is tea stained so maybe the kitchen sink was involved!) piece.

My daughters walls are absolutely covered with photos of animals and her own artsy crafty work (much like our refrigerator!)

Shockingly my husband and I have never had a real bed!!!!!  No headboard for us...  So I sort of created one visually What I really love is the story behind the painting.  I saw this huge framed painting lurking in a back bedroom in my Mother In Law's home and she said I could keep it!!!  It has a bit of a seedy past   Apparently it was probably stolen from a hotel room, or sold possibly after  the hotel closed...  Maybe something ominous happened to close the Hotel?!

Finally here is one of the many frames that was attacked by my glue gun...

If you've made it to this point then THANKS for taking a peek into my little world at home!
CHEERS!

Happy Friday!

As always i'll be stuck at my day job all day today and tomorrow but what can a girl do?! Make the best of it I say. I have LOTS of crafty (and not so crafty things like dishes...) to do this Sunday and I can't wait!!!

I want to start on my brand new journal ideas and class. Paint ROBOTS for my little misses birthday party and play with my recently acquired distress inks and stains. (I really hate the white side of scrapbook paper!) and of course catch up with my two pen pals! Always fun. Oh and did I mention my Polaroid Instant Digital Camera that I ordered for my birthday last month will FINALLY be here Tuesday??? So many things to happy dance for.

A happy attitude is key to having a happy life!!! Hope everyone is ecstatically happy today even if they are stuck at work like me. Cheers!!!

Who doesn't love silly random animal pictures!?

My Life

According to my refrigerator!

Does anyone else do this?! I LOVE to cover my refrigerator with bits and pieces of my life. We have a wedding picture up there. Some photo booth shots from a date night a couple years ago.

There's some random family shots and a picture from my little misses first dentist trip. We have artwork by my daughter herself and the Mr. (he painted the Yo Gaba Gaba characters.

And that's just the front! The whole side is dedicated (dorkily) to my favorite Twilight Mom Card Exchanges. I just love the random craziness of my refrigerator. It says a lot about our lives! And it never fails to make me smile.

What do you have on your refrigerator?!
